Finca Entre Las Cuerdas
Finca Entre las Cuerdas is a sanctuary of purpose and regeneration — a living orchard and volunteer village rooted in the heart of the mountains of El Remate, Petén, Guatemala. Spanning 1.93 hectares of sacred land, it rests upon the remnants of a Postclassic Mayan city, where ceremonies have been held for generations overlooking the shimmering blue waters of Lake Petén Itzá.
Born from friendship and vision, the project was founded by Gregory Fogle and Derek Smith of Colorado, USA, and Dr. Brad Krusky of Canada — three individuals united by a shared calling to restore connection between people, land, and purpose. With backgrounds in sustainable energy, construction, and horticulture, Greg and Derek saw the potential of this sacred site, and together with Brad’s decades of humanitarian work in Guatemala, set out to build a living model of collaboration, healing, and renewal.
Dr. Brad Krusky’s lifelong dedication to community well-being — through his family’s volunteer organization, Dentistry for All — brings a foundation of compassion and service that infuses every aspect of the finca. His legacy of care inspires the integration of health, sustainability, and cultural harmony throughout the project.

Today, Finca Entre las Cuerdas is becoming a model for sustainable community development — a place where creativity, ecology, and education come together to build a better future. Among mango, cashew, avocado, lime, papaya, chico zapote, and ramón trees, the land flourishes as a living classroom — inviting volunteers, artists, educators, and travelers from around the world to plant, build, and learn in unity.
